My Soul is a Witness Made up of excerpts of famous works by Val Gray Ward the theme will amplify gallery exhibition, The Men, The Message, The Music: Martin, Malcolm, Marley and More and the resounding meanings in a movement for change..
Ward will present a multidisciplinary performance combining music, theater and poetry and song to bring to life excerpts from Rhapsody in Hughes 101, My Soul is a Witness and Harriet Tubman.

Actress, producer, cultural activist and internationally known theater personality. Ward is recognized as part of Chicago's activist Black Arts Movement. In this context, she founded the nonprofit Kuumba Theatre in 1968. Ward and the company received Emmy Awards for the PBS television production of Precious Memories: Strolling 47th Street in 1988. When she is not producing, Ward performs one-woman shows in the United States and abroad.
